Samoëns, from the village to the wide open spaces of the Grand Massif
Samoëns is first and foremost a true Haute-Savoie village , with its historic center, its stone houses and its preserved heritage in the heart of the Giffre valley.
But from the village, the Grand Massif Express gondola quickly changes the atmosphere as it takes you to Samoëns 1600 and the slopes. From there, wide open spaces, forest trails, and long descents with the surrounding peaks as a backdrop await.

Samoëns is linked by skis to Flaine, Morillon, Les Carroz and Sixt-Fer-à-Cheval within the Grand Massif ski area, which boasts 265 km of pistes . You can ski from the wooded slopes of Samoëns and Morillon to the wide open areas of Flaine all in the same day.
For a descent that stands out, head to the Cascades piste with its 14 km of gliding from the heights of Flaine to Sixt-Fer-à-Cheval, in the heart of a particularly wild setting.
