Freeride Ski Rentals in Les 2 Alpes - Ski Resort
Les 2 Alpes: the largest glacier in Europe
Located in the Isère department, in the heart of the Écrins mountain range between the villages of Mont de Lans and Venosc, the Les Deux Alpes resort is a true paradise for freeride skiers. World-renowned for its glacier reaching 3,600 meters in altitude and its abundant natural snow, this resort offers a unique skiing experience at the crossroads of the Northern and Southern Alps. Founded in 1946, Les Deux Alpes was originally a livestock farming area. The first inn was built in 1934 to welcome the first tourists, and the very first ski lift was inaugurated in 1946. The resort's name is inspired by its location between the Alpe de Mont de Lans and the Alpe de Venosc. Since 1973, summer skiing has been possible thanks to the snow cover on the glacier and the construction of the Jandri gondola lift.
A trendy, sporty resort
Les 2 Alpes is renowned for its sporty and trendy atmosphere. It has hosted numerous international sporting events such as the World Ski Championships, the Snowboard World Championships, and the Kumi Yama snowpark. From Powder Week to the Rise Festival, the resort attracts a growing number of skiers from all over the world each year. In January, don't miss the Tout Schuss Cup, a speed skiing race featuring ski champion Marion Rolland! With the largest skiable glacier in Europe, Les 2 Alpes offers an exceptional skiing experience and a breath of fresh air for your ski holiday!
An exceptional ski area
With direct access to the glacier via the new Pierre Grosse gondola, the Les 2 Alpes ski area is a benchmark for freeride skiing. Combining modern facilities with the pure joy of skiing, it covers 398 hectares, boasts 255 snow cannons, and offers 90 runs suitable for all levels. Every Thursday, the resort offers a ride in a snow groomer to discover the inner workings of the ski area from a different perspective. You can also enjoy night skiing on the Lutins run for a unique experience, while admiring the sunset. For those interested in discovering the ski patroller's profession, the resort organizes the "First Track Skiing" event throughout the season, where you'll have the opportunity to break trail alongside a professional ski patroller. Ice climbing and snowshoeing excursions are also offered by the guides' office, providing unique experiences in powder fields and on the most beautiful routes in the Oisans region.
