Located at an altitude of 1,850 meters, the La Rosière resort is the ideal place for a winter sports holiday focused on freeride skiing. Its history dates back to 1920, when a group of passionate young skiers founded the Union Sportive de Montvalezan. In 1985, the construction of the Chardonnet chairlift allowed skiers to cross the border, creating the first international ski area bordering Italy. La Rosière: An eco-responsible resort

Faced with current environmental challenges, the La Rosière ski resort has implemented several initiatives to reduce its environmental footprint. To preserve its natural beauty and the sensitive environments within its ski area, La Rosière established its own Environmental Observatory in 2014 to gain a better understanding of local flora and fauna. In partnership with the Vanoise National Park and the Mountain Galliformes Observatory, the resort protects the amphibians found within its territory, including wall lizards and black grouse living on the edges of the woodlands in its mountain areas. Furthermore, La Rosière places particular emphasis on developing its pastures and agricultural operations by fostering coexistence with local livestock farmers. Finally, a revegetation policy was implemented a few years ago to limit erosion and optimize soil vegetation cover.
