Ski hire
In Alpe d'Huez , skiing is an experience at altitude, on a vast and wide-open ski area in the Grandes Rousses massif south of Grenoble. Between the Pic Blanc , the long panoramic runs descending from the glacier at 3,300 meters, and the fast-paced sections, the resort offers challenging and continuous skiing, renowned for its vertical drop and long descents. It's an iconic spot for those who love long ski runs, with varied terrain, steep slopes, and plenty of sunshine! It's even nicknamed "the island of the sun"...

Skiing on the sunny island!
Alpe d'Huez, skiing up to 3,330 meters
Located at an altitude of 1,860 meters , Alpe d'Huez gives you access to an XXL terrain that climbs all the way to the Pic Blanc, at 3,330 meters . The area has approximately 250 km of slopes , including classic runs, technical areas, freestyle zones and high mountain routes.
With its generous exposure and panoramic views of the Alps, the resort offers the opportunity to experience a completely different landscape throughout the day, all while enjoying superb sunshine . This is why Alpe d'Huez is nicknamed "the island of the sun" !
Sarenne, Pic Blanc and large verticals
From Pic Blanc, you can tackle one of the resort's iconic descents: Sarenne , a 16km black run with nearly 1,800 meters of vertical drop !
Another classic, the Tunnel offers a much more challenging descent from the high-altitude sectors.
And if you want to get off the marked trails, the area around Pic Blanc and Grand Sablat offers renowned freeride terrain, to be explored with the right equipment and guidance for the conditions.
Plenty of activities and après-ski
For a change from the long descents, head to the freestyle areas of the resort before returning to the center of Alpe d'Huez at the end of the day. The resort is packed with bars, restaurants, terraces and après-ski spots .
Many activities to experience the mountains differently are also offered: tobogganing on rails, ice skating, swimming pool or even snowmobile outings allow you to keep up the pace once the lifts are closed.
