Valmeinier, skiing at altitude

Nestled between the Galibier massif and the towering peaks of the Maurienne valley , Valmeinier offers terrain where you can quickly gain altitude. Linked by ski runs to the resort of Valloire , it forms part of the Galibier-Thabor ski area, which stretches from 1,430 to 2,750 meters . And with 70% of the slopes located above 2,000 meters , you're guaranteed to find excellent snow all season long.
160 km of trails up to an altitude of 2,750m
The Galibier-Thabor ski area boasts 160 km of slopes and 90 runs , including 33 red and 8 black runs for those who like to pick up the pace. From Valmeinier, head up towards Gros Crey and then La Sandonière , the highest point in the area at 2,750 meters, before descending to the various sectors of Valloire. With a vertical drop of 1,320 meters , you'll have plenty of opportunities for long runs and exploring different slopes throughout the day.
Freestyle, freeride and new trails
Looking to venture off the beaten track? Galibier-Thabor offers a progressive snowpark, an avalanche transceiver park, fun zones, and night skiing . Around the slopes, the vast open spaces of the Maurienne valley also provide excellent terrain for freeriding and ski touring when conditions permit.
